Philippa and Phil at Shrigley Hall

Views from Shrigley Hall Wedding Photographer

Planning a wedding, as exciting as it is, can be stressful at times; managing budgets, choosing suppliers,  deciding on themes or colour schemes.

Imagine then, planning two weddings!  One in the country that you are currently living and working in (Australia) and one over the other side of the world in the country you are originally from (England).  Back in April, Philippa and Phil did just that! They got married twice!! And I will be honest with you, I think had they been given another reason to, they would have gone for the hat-trick

Two Weddings and a honeymoon of a lifetime

Planning a wedding in the UK from Abroad

I was lucky enough to photograph their beautiful UK wedding at Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club; a gorgeous wedding venue near Macclesfield, Cheshire. The hotel is situated on the edge of the Peak District, in the small village of Pott Shrigley. Set within 262 acres of grounds surrounded by the stunning and dramatic Cheshire countryside. I met them both back in November for their pre wedding shoot, it was a rather windy and blustery cold November day, but so good to be able to meet each other and have a chat about the wedding, before the day.

As they had already legally married in Australia,  Philippa and Phil hired a celebrant, Jenny Aindow who conducted a ceremony for them in the William Turner suite.  The beautiful room offers ornate chandeliers and french windows, it is a beautiful, light space. The Tilden Suite, located in a converted Chapel, has a beautiful dome roof and original features from the 18th Century making it  a unique and wonderful venue your special day and was the location for the wedding breakfast and evening reception for #thephilswedding.

The venue dressing for the wedding was stunning and I have never seen a room so transformed with drapes and twinkly lights.  Special thanks from the Bride and Groom to Precious Things Event Styling and  Maxcare, Peak Party Decor.

The Bride's advice for choosing a venue overseas:  'I chose the venue online....I loved the frontage of Shrigley Hall and also the fact that the hotel organise a full package which reduced the workload from overseas.

If you are planning an April wedding and are looking for honeymoon inspiration, Philippa and Phil jetted off to South Africa for Safari at Makanyi Lodge (http://makanyilodge.com/) they then did a bit of a road trip for a week and stayed at a number of places,  but highlights were Shark diving (with Great Whites) in Gansbaii and a wine tour in Franschhoek, before heading to Cape Town and Mauritius (http://www.luxresorts.com/en/hotel-mauritius/luxlemorne) for a week of relaxation.

It was an amazing once in a lifetime holiday jam packed with sunshine, wildlife, activities, lovely food and some relaxation along the way!

Below are some of their honeymoon snaps, it looks like it was quite an adventure, thank you both for sharing and being awesome to work with! xx
